In the following testimony, Angela Kade Goepferd admits to the lies of transgender “puberty blockers” and giving children access to them. We hope MN Children’s Hospital will get rid of their “transgender clinic” and put Dr. Kade out of employment. We hope the children being harmed by these monsters will have justice and that no more children will be harmed.
“Dr” Angela Kade Goepferd
5:03 Think that my name is Doctor Angela kicked up for days. They and she pronouns Chair Becker-finn committee members.
5:09 Thank you for having me today. I am the chief education officer and the medical director for the Gender Health
5:14 program at children’s Minnesota. I’ve been a pediatrician caring for the kids at the state for the last 17 years. And I’m here today to express children’s
5:2 2Minnesota support for house my one. 46, I’m also here with representative think it’s state to dispel myths that have been spread intentionally or
5:30 unintentionally that harm transgender young people and place them at the center of a political battle that does not
5:36 belong to them. I’m here to let you know that gender affirming care is health care.
5:42 It is specialized health care provided by teams with training and expertise and evidence-based care, just like
5:48 any other pediatric specialty that we provide for kids at children’s Minnesota.
5:53 But first, I’d like to tell you about Jessica, whose name has been changed for my testimony.
5:59 Jessica is a 6 year-old transgender girl who I met shortly after our program opened 3 years ago.
6:05 Jessica and her family drove to Minneapolis from South Dakota to seek care of our program because Jessica so desperately
6:12 wanted play soccer. Her parents drove her to Minnesota from South Dakota
6:19 because in order for Jessica to play soccer, her parents were required to submit her birth certificate,
6:26 which would reveal that she was transgender. Her parents were so terrified of what that could mean for her
6:32 and their family in the small rural town in which they lived and their local pediatrician refused to help their family
6:39 with a letter of support to amend her birth certificate. Helping 6 year-old Jessica Play soccer is gender affirming care
6:48 at its root. Gender affirming care is listening to understanding and supporting transgender young people and
6:54 their families. And it includes both mental health and medical care at Children’s Minnesota. We follow guidelines outlined
7:00 by the World Professional Association for Transgender Help and the Pediatric Endocrine Society that are supported by
7:06 every major medical organization in this country and across the world.
7:11 The majority of care that we provide in our clinic involves no medications. It is about helping families answer questions about their
7:19 developing child. We share information about non medical interventions such as shape where and voice therapy
7:26 for adolescents who are in their second stage of puberty, some access reversible medications to suppress their
7:31 PPE, old or young adults who are ready from a medical and mental health standpoint may access partially reversible, gender
7:38 affirming heart months. All of our care is age appropriate. All of our care is provided with parental consent.
7:46 We do not perform gender affirming surgeries at children’s every day that I’m in clinic. I hear from patients and
7:53 families in the state who wonder if they will have to flee our state in order to continue to love and support their transgender
7:59 child. There are thousands of Minnesota families listening to every single word spoken here today
8:07 knowing that their child’s life and their families future depends on the outcome of the spill
8:12 across the country are domestic refugees, parents and children who are forced to leave the state that they currently call
8:19 home to find a place where their children and families belong and will not be persecuted for their identities.
8:25 So thank you, Representative. Thank you for your incredible leadership on this historic and lifesaving bill. This bill
8:30 sends a message that we love and value and support all kids here in the state of Minnesota. Thank you.
